Before becoming the biggest band in the world, The Beatles spent their early years honing their live set at the Star Club in Hamburg Germany. Some nights, they played multiple sets, sometimes playing up to six hours in a night. Paul McCartney has frequently credited those days in Hamburg as being essential in the bands development. The Star Club was opened in 1962 and closed in 1969. Sadly, the building in which the club once lived was lost in a fire in 1987.
