Max's Kansas City was a nightclub and restaurant at 213 Park Avenue South in New York City. The club opened in 1965 and immediately became a hot spot for musicians, poets and artists. Andy Warhol and his entourage were regulars at Max's and Lou Reed's Velvet Underground played there regularly. In 1970, Max's was the epicenter of the Glam Rock scene featuring artists like David Bowie, The New York Dolls, and Iggy Pop among many others. This legendary club closed its doors for the last time in 1981.
