Please note that in order to offer the most authentic looking designs, concert ticket art prints often have a distressed, weather look due to normal aging and wear and tear on the actual ticket stub. Some ticket prints may show some blemishes that are part of the original source and are not due to a defect in the print process. Some restoration is done when possible but the source photos used come from the genuine artifact, most of which are decades old so uneven colors, faded print, and other blemishes may be visible.
The Monterey Pop Festival, held in 1967, was a groundbreaking event that epitomized the spirit of the counterculture movement and marked a significant moment in the history of rock music. Organized by John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas, Lou Adler, Alan Pariser, and others, the festival took place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in California from June 16 to June 18. The festival featured a diverse lineup of performers from various musical genres, including rock, folk, blues, and soul. Notable acts included The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Who, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Ravi Shankar, and many others. It provided a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents to a larger audience and helped to launch several careers into stardom. The tickets were numbered one through five as there were five different sessions of the festival. The first ticket was for the Friday night performances, followed by afternoon and evening performances on both Saturday and Sunday.
