By almost any standard, William H. Johnson can be considered a major American artist. His art captured the history of Black Americans and he focused on painting what life was like in 1930's and 1940's. He's one of my favorite artists and so I created a few designs featuring some of my favorite pieces. This is a piece from 1939 titled Street Musicians.
Several of his works are displayed in the Smithsonian. The images used for these designs are now in Public Domain.
