When It comes to record labels, there aren't too many as historic and influential as Trumpet Records. In spite of the fact that they were only around for four years, they had a major impact on American Blues music. The goal of Trumpet Records was to record musicians from the Mississippi Delta that did not have access to recording studios in New York City or Los Angeles. Elmore James recorded his original "Dust My Broom' on Trumpet and they were the first label to record Sonny Boy Williamson.
