I created this poster to commemorate one of the highlights of my concert-going life.   I saw Rick Danko perform at the Old Vienna Kaffeehause in Westborough Massachusetts back in 1988 and it was a night to remember.

The Old Vienna Kaffeehouse is a really small club and whenever I'd go to these types of venues I's alway bring an album with me and in most cases, was able to get it signed after the show.

I got to this particular show pretty early (Rick is one of my Rock-Gods so I had to get there the minute the doors opened).   We sat at the first table right next to the stage and I had the album I had brought with me sitting out in plain view when Rick came out onstage.   It was his first solo album.  A few songs into his set,   Rick noticed the record out on the table and asked me if I wanted him to sign it.

He literally walked to my table (I was only a few feet from the stage,, but it was still cool) and signed it right then, in the middle of his set.  He also drew a huge smiley face on the front cover right under his signature.  I was hoping to find him after the show to ask him to sign it but this was so much better.   Needless to stay I was stunned that he walked over to my table, guitar and all.  One of the greatest experiences of my life.  After he signed it he shook my hand and headed back to the stage which illicited a huge ovation from the crowd.

At the end of the show, it took me an hour to get out of the club since so many people stopped me and wanted to see the signed record and most of them expressed how jealous they were that they didn't think to bring something for Rick to sign.

I have this autographed record framed on my wall and it is among my most prized possessions.  Rick Danko was one of the all time greats and seeing him that night was truly special.
