Peanut Butter Marshmallow Fluff Wonder Bread Pop Art Watercolor Painting Fluffernutter Sandwich

This pop art painting features the ingredients of the greatest sandwich ever invented, the Fluffernutter.  Full disclosure here: I was born in Somerville Massachusetts which happens to be where Marshmallow Fluff was invented in 1917 and I was raised like every other New Englander eating Fluffernutters my entire life so I am a little biased.   

The Fluffernutter is a New England staple and I never realized until I was an adult that Marshmallow Fluff is not sold everywhere and that there are actually people walking this earth that never had one.  (A tragic thing to be sure).  I learned this sad fact when a friend of mine was in the military and she told me that one day. she and her fellow soldiers were talking about what they missed most from home.  When she said she missed Fluffernutters, she got blank stares from everyone around her, except for the one other New Englander that happened to be there.   I never knew so many people were deprived out of the joy of a Peanut Butter and Fluff sandwich.
