The photo used to create this Art Print was taken at the Newport Pop Festival, Devonshire Downs, Northridge, CA. After what was described by some as a subpar performance with the Experience on Friday evening, Jimi returned to the festival on Sunday afternoon to jam with Eric Burdon, Buddy Miles, Tracy Nelson, and Mother Earth. His enthusiastic participation won over the crowd and tje extended jam session proved to be the highlight of the Sunday slate. Jimi was photographed during that afternoon performance on June 22, 1969.
