I created a series of Art Prints immortalizing great Record Stores from around the world. As a life long record collector that spent nearly 20 years working in Record Shops back in the 80's and 90's, I have a passion for these treasures of the past that are gone forever. I know times change, but I find it sad that most music fans will never understand the amazing time when there were record shops on every corner. These posters were created as a reminder of those wonderful days.
House of Oldies is one of the most iconic Record Shops of any era, and easily one of the most iconic shops ever in New York City. House of Oldies opened in Greenwich Village in 1969 and sadly closed their store when the pandemic hit in 2020. Owner Bob Abramson has kept the business alive but is strictly selling online now. It's sad the store is gone, but it's nice to see that they're still selling vinyl.
As with all of prints and posters, this is an original design featuring my own illustrations, graphic design and art work.
