I saw the Rolling Stones a few times over the years, but only one time was I lucky enough to be up close to the stage. I sat in the third row for a show in Hartford Connecticut in 1981 and it was obviously a once in a lifetime chance to see a band of this magnitude up close. The whole night was amazing, but I found myself mesmerized by the steadiness of Charlie Watts. He was like a human drum machine. He made it look so easy and effortless. I've always enjoyed watching the all time greats do what they do. Watching Larry Bird play Basketball or watching B.B. King play guitar, and that night, I enjoyed the hell out of watching Charlie Watts play drums.
