What started out as a studio that was supposed to record Soul music, ended up as the birthplace of a new genre of music. The Walden brothers had been managing partners for some of the biggest soul acts of the day, including the immortal Otis Redding. When the new studio was ready to open for business, the plan was for Otis to be the artist that they'd record to launch the new label. Sadly, Otis passed away tragically and the Waldens were forced to go in another direction. Having worked with Duane Allman when he was playing as a session musician for Wilson Picket, the Waldens saw his potential and approached him about recording for their new label. You know the rest.
