Capricorn Records is widely known as the Birthplace Of Southern Rock. Originally planning to specialize in Soul music, Capricorn hired a young local session guitarist who had played with King Curtis and Wilson Pickett (amoung others) and planned for him to recruit some of the more well known Soul artists to record for the new label. His name was Duane Allman and instead, he started his own band. I think you know the rest.
