I created a series of Art Prints immortalizing great Record Stores from around the world. As a life long record collector that spent nearly 20 years working in Record Shops back in the 80's and 90's, I have a passion for these treasures of the past that are gone forever. I know times change, but I find it sad that most music fans will never understand the amazing time when there were record shops on every corner. These posters were created as a reminder of those wonderful days.
Bleecker Bob's Records opened in 1967 in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in New York City and became one of the most iconic record stores in the USA until it closed it's doors in 2013. Bob's reputation for supporting young upcoming bands was legendary (Ramones, Talking Heads etc.) and the store was always out in front of new trends before most others. Bleecker Bob's was part record store and part hang-out, frequently staying open until 3am, waiting for the late night crowd to come in when the bars and coffee shops were closing. It's safe to say, there will never be another store like it.
As with all of prints and posters, this is an original design featuring my own illustrations, graphic design and art work.
