Bell Records was founded in 1952 and was originally a budget label focusing on children's records and novelties. In the 1960's the label expanded into R&B, soul and pop and had hits with Lee Dorsey, The Box Tops and the Delfonics.
The label achieved its greatest mainstream success in the 1970s featuring bubblegum pop (The Bay City Rollers) and tie-ins with hit TV shows (The Partridge Family, Tony Orlando & Dawn) and later Barry Manilow.
They focused largely on singles rather than LP's. If you were a kid buying records in the early seventies, I guarantee you have a least one 45RPM in your collection from Bell Records.
