ABOUT THE PHOTO: The Hackberry General Store is an iconic site along Route 66, located in Hackberry Arizona. The store was originally opened in 1934 to provide goods to the community of Hackberry which was a growing community at that time, located just across the railroad tracks. The only alternative to the locals was to travel hours to Kingman Arizona so the Hackberry General Store was extremely popular and was in business until 1979. The property sat abandoned until it was purchased and reopened as a tourist attraction in 1992
