I always found it ironic and kind of sad that The Beatles were forced to stop touring in 1966 because of the crowd reactions wherever they went. The Beatles stated many times in interviews over the years that they couldn't even hear themselves playing at some of their shows.
The irony for me is that they had a reputation as being a tremendous live band, as the honed their skills playing hundreds if not thousands of shows over the years prior to their world wide fame. In Hamburg alone, they'd play multiple shows per night, which the band later credited as a major contributor to their success.
