The source photo I used for this painting is one of the most iconic images of images, and my personal favorite picture of Robert Plant. Led Zeppelin were playing a show in Kezar Stadium in San Francisco in 1973. The band had two cages behind a set of amps on each side of the stage, each with six white doves inside. The plan was to release the doves at the conclusion of Stairway To Heaven. When the time came, the doves were released as planned, but one dove did a low fly-over before landing unexpectedly on Robert Plant. I love the look of peace on Plant's face as he just stares at this bird. Note: If you're a Led Zep fan, (and if you're looking at this you must be!), check out my other paintings for Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham.
